Dubai’s Best Haunts for Traditional Arabic-style Coffee

Dubai’s best haunts for traditional Arabic-style coffee

Over the years, many countries in the Middle East have developed new and interesting ways of brewing and preparing their coffee. Arabic coffee is one of the most popular ways to drink coffee on the planet, accounting for at least three-fifths of the coffee consumed around the world. It's also a great way to start the day as you can get your caffeine fix without consuming any calories or fat; in fact, it also contains a modicum of protein!

If you are looking for a great breakfast joint in Dubai to start the day, make sure you check out these establishments which serve and deliver fresh Arabic-style coffee straight to your door.

1. Al Barza – Jumeirah 1

In the thick of the action opposite Dubai Zoo is Al Barza, a very popular place for traditional Emirati and Arabic breakfasts to set you up for the day. They cook a lot of their own traditional, rustic breads and pancakes that are perfect with a cup of fresh Arabica bean coffee. Their Chebab pancakes, infused with aromatic cardamom and saffron, are served with an indulgent date syrup and topped with cream cheese.

2. Logma – Al Wasl

Nestled in the suburb of Al Wasl, Logma has a desire to cook sweet and savoury Emirati cuisine, washed down with a great selection of cold and hot beverages. In fact, these guys have everything from iced coffees and frappes to mocktails, milkshakes and traditional Saudi coffee. Whatever kind of drink you're looking for a pick-me-up here, you're sure to be able to get it delivered from Logma.

3. Jolie – City Walk

Located in and around the tree-lined esplanade of City Walk's retail complex is the decadent Jolie café. Serving a great choice of delicious homemade bakes, sandwiches and warming soups, it's a great choice for those looking to order in something cosy with friends or family. Their signature iced drinks  also include an Arabic cold brew coffee, which still offers the smooth rich taste of Arabica coffee beans with a refreshing cool twist.

4. Icons – World Trade Center

Just a stone's throw from the World Trade Center, Icons is the perfect shout for busy businessmen and women seeking their Arabic-style caffeine fix. Aside from their tempting breakfast platters and homemade burgers, their range of hot beverages is excellent. They have an exclusive coffee and tea range, which includes Arabic and Turkish coffee, as well as the intriguing "World's Most Exclusive Coffee Ceremony". Their ice-cold frappes are also indulgent, topped with agave or dates.

5. The Market Restaurant and Café – Marina West

Overlooking the Marina waterfront is The Market Restaurant and Café, which does a roaring trade both at breakfast time and lunchtimes. Their Royal Market Breakfast is our most popular meal deal here, which is served and delivered all day long. The Emirati Breakfast, complete with balaleet eggs or shakshouka and foul medammes, olives and pickles and grilled halloumi, is washed down with a choice of either tea or Arabic coffee.
