With a keen eye for natural ingredients and artisan suppliers, Jones the Grocer creates international dishes that are both simple and sophisticated – whipped up from specially sourced produce from all over the world. Starting out in Sydney, the menu has an Australian twist.
Foodie favourites from Jones the Grocer
One of the most popular dishes on the menu is their Jones Wagyu Burger, served up with skin-on-fries and a tangy bois boudran sauce. Freshly minced and marinated wagyu, crispy smoked beef bacon, fresh mixed leaf salad and melted cheese are all packed into a fluffy brioche bun for a burger that's a cut above the rest. Amp up the gourmet factor even more with additional toppings including foie gras and truffle brie.
Then there's the hearty Smoked Tomato Soup – as simple as it sounds, but creatively presented with whipped burrata, a fresh Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream, and drizzle of basil oil.
We get excited about their Chargrilled Harissa Chicken too. To keep things authentic, Jones the Grocer serves this number up with an aromatic North African couscous salad and red pepper emulsion to pack a seriously good punch.
And they haven't forgotten about the vegetarians among us either. A sensational Truffle and Mushroom Risotto adorns the menu, full of earthy tones and creaminess. But for a lighter bite, check out the fresh and seasonal Roast Pumpkin and Feta Salad – marinated in zesty Yuzu sauce, and crammed full of sun-dried tomatoes and peppery rocket.
Jones the Grocer's story
Jones the Grocer's story began in 1996 when their flagship Sydney store opened in the heart of Woollahra, setting a benchmark for premium Australian gourmet food stores. They fused it with ever popular café culture, offering food made fresh from their top ingredients. But what made this store so iconic was the huge walk-in cheese room, packed full of every smoked and flavoursome cheese you can imagine.
Its chain of contemporary cafes has expanded internationally to Australia, Bahrain, New Zealand, Qatar, Singapore, Thailand and the UAE. But the concept remains the same – it's all about gourmet food and simple, fresh, quality ingredients.
If you feel like going gourmet before lunchtime, don't worry – Jones the Grocer also does a killer breakfast. Offering a small but contemporary breakfast menu, they've honed in on what people want and they do it well.
